OUR STORY

It Starts With Doremi began with a simple yet powerful idea: using music to bridge the gap between cultures and languages in multicultural families. Our founder, Seung Woo Lee, grew up experiencing how music could unite family members who spoke different native languages. Later, while volunteering at a community center, he saw firsthand how music could foster communication and connection among diverse families, inspiring the creation of our volunteer group.

With the help of Professor HJ Kim, what started as small, informal music sessions quickly grew into a larger movement. Volunteers, musicians, and teachers joined forces to offer workshops and events where families could share their cultural traditions through song. Today, It Starts With Doremi continues to help families connect with one another and the world, using music as a universal language to build understanding and harmony.

Seung Woo Lee (Founder)

Seung Woo Lee is a passionate advocate for using music as a universal tool for communication and connection, particularly within multicultural families. With a deep appreciation for how music transcends language and cultural barriers, Seung Woo founded 'It Starts With Doremi' to help families from diverse backgrounds come together and express themselves through music.

Music became their common ground—a way to connect, share emotions, and create lasting memories. This personal experience ignited Seung Woo's belief that music could be a powerful tool to help others in similar situations.

Seung Woo's vision for 'It Starts With Doremi' was inspired by his volunteer work at local community centers, where he witnessed how music brought multicultural families closer. What started as small, informal gatherings soon blossomed into a vibrant community initiative, with workshops, performances, and family-centered events that celebrate cultural diversity through song. Today, Seung Woo continues to lead the organization with the same passion that started it, working tirelessly to help families communicate and connect through the joy of music.
